Event Details

Over eight weeks, twelve participants ages 55+ will explore suminagashi monoprints, cyanotype photograms, and watercolor painting in a welcoming, social environment. 

All materials and a snack are provided each class, and the series will conclude with a community art exhibition at the library! 

*For adults 55+ only. Registration is required, and those interested should plan to try to attend all eight classes. 

*Happening at the Coolville and Nelsonville libraries.

*NOTE: If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, the series may extend into March.

About our workshop leader: Jessica Held is an artist, teaching artist, small business owner, and festival coordinator based in Athens, Ohio. She earned a BFA in painting and photography from Ohio University and continues to exhibit and publish her work. She has led art programs for all ages in schools, libraries, and community art centers across Ohio, Texas, Indiana, and Michigan. Currently, Jessica teaches teen art clubs and summer camps at The Dairy Barn Arts Center and after-school enrichment programs through Ohio University’s Kids on Campus. An Ohio Arts Council Teaching Artist roster member, she received specialized Creative Aging training through Lifetime Arts and designs inclusive, engaging art programs for older adults. Jessica is also the owner of Flux and Function LLC, where she creates functional art sold in shops around Ohio. Additionally, she serves as the Community Marketplace Coordinator for the annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival.
