This is a drop-in Wikipedia editing session geared toward bridging the gender gap in representation of the arts on Wikipedia.

Did you know that less than 10% of the editors of Wikipedia are women? While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity, however, is not. Content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge. Let's change that!

OU Libraries and the Athens County Public Libraries plan to make an impact on the Wikipedia gender gap with Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thons held at both Alden library and the Athens library.

We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation.

Refreshments provided. Free and open to the public. People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.
