"Along with my wife, I am an avid hiker, and nature's beauty inspires my wooden bird carvings.  I am grateful to Clyde Beasley, who first introduced me to the art of carving.  Over the past five years, I have honed my skills in chainsaw and hand-carving, in which time I launched my own business, Two Feathers Carving, through which I can share my passion by selling my creations.  Each piece reflects a bit of my journey and love for the craft." -- Steve Norris

The featured artist's ancestors played a significant role in founding our nearby Strouds Run State Park, where he was privileged to work for more than 20 years for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).  He is now an active member of The Athens Art Guild, The Athens Conservancy, and the Southeast Ohio History Center.
