Event Details

Create your own unique portrayal of local landmarks with this simple take-home embroidery kit! Using topographic maps from the United States Geologic Survey website, you can trace and stitch the hills and lakes that surround the city of Athens. You can choose to embroider the Ridges, the trails at Sells Park, the beach at Dow Lake, or even go online and find your own region!

This kit is intended for all skill levels and provides everything needed to start your embroidery; no additional purchases necessary! Basic stitching instructions will be included. This project is inspired by the CreativeBug project "Marbled Embroidery by Lauren from Lark Rising Embroidery." Further tutorials can be found at the CreativeBug website (library card and PIN required).

Supplies are limited, so registration is required. Kits will be available to be picked up at the Athens Library starting 9/13.
