Before (and after) author Mary Gaitskill visits Athens forthe 2018 Spring Literary Festival April 11-13, read/discuss one of her most critically
acclaimed novels!

A story about the
nuances of female friendship set in the glittering 1980s, Veronica was
a finalist for both the National
Book Award and National Book Critics Circle Award. Gaitskill’s work often features female
characters whose lives are complicated by themes of sexuality and
addiction (The film Secretary, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, is
based on one of her short stories.) Our book club leader is Tom Tiberio, an organizer of the Lit Fest, a freelance writer
and instructor of English, and the managing editor of the New Ohio Review.The first 15 people to register will receive a free copy of the book; attendance required. THIS SECOND MEETING WILL OCCUR ON THE OPEN FLOOR OF THE LIBRARY.
