Event Details

Quite apart from the debates of historians as to the actual guilt or innocence of King Richard III, the last of the Royal House of York to
rule England, William Shakespeare's play is an artistic study in the
rise and fall of a tyrant. The drama takes the audience beyond popular
history, using it as an excuse to explore both the political and
psychological dimensions of tyranny in society. This is the first
classic play ever to be read and discussed in our seasonal book clubs!

Our guest lecturer and discussion leader is Dr. Loreen Giese, a Professor in the Department of English at Ohio University.
