Program Description

Event Details

The dramatic character of Richard III, King of England, has become a popular image of a conniving, homicidal tyrant, especially when viewed through the lens of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Richard the Third. However, records that remain from the actual person's life and brief reign do not bear out this image of evil. The rediscovery of King Richard’s lost grave earlier this century and the recent release of the film The Lost King have also reopened the question of the injustices of historiography.

Join this presentation given by librarian Todd to consider other perspectives about the life of Richard the Third and to hear more about the history of the ongoing famous debate regarding his guilt or innocence.
