Rectangles: Art by Steve Gray

I build paintings using oil paint and a palette knife on canvas.  They are composed of rectangles which I continually rework. Color, texture, size and placement of the shapes are adjusted by much layering and scraping. Changes are made until all of the formal elements feel correct. The painting is complete when I'm satisfied with its integrity and its overall visual effect. -- Steve Gray
