Event Details

Learn the true story of one of the greatest empresses of the Roman Empire, whose life has been for too long obscured by myth and political rumor.  Our guest speaker, Dr. Neil Bernstein, Professor of Classical Literature in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies at Ohio University, has accomplished the scholarly detective work to produce the first modern biography of this famous figure, Poppaea Sabina, the wife of Emperor Nero.

*Copies in paperback of Dr. Bernstein's book, Poppaea Sabina: The Life and Afterlife of a Roman Empress, from Oxford University Press, will be available for sale and autographing after the presentation.
