Join us for a discussion of the play by Jaclyn Backhaus, “Men on Boats”.

SYNOPSIS: “Ten explorers. Four boats. One Grand Canyon. MEN ON BOATS is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition, when a one-armed captain and a crew of insane yet loyal volunteers set out to chart the course of the Colorado River.” – Rebecca VerNooy, Director of Education, Tantrum Theater, Ohio University School of Theater.

Our discussion leader will be Tyler Adams, a PhD candidate in Ohio University's School of Interdisciplinary Arts.

Please register online through the Library Calendar (https://events.myacpl.org/events/play-reading-men-boats-tantrum-theater-production), or call 740-592-4272 to ask a Librarian to register you.  You will then receive a PDF copy of the play to read in anticipation of this event, and later an invitation to participate live-streaming via Google Meet.

The play will be performed live at Ohio University's Forum Theater by the Tantrum Theater troupe on October 7th-9th and October 12th-16th at 8pm, and with a matinee performance on October 16th at 2pm.
