Join Rural Action's Appalachian Understories for a guided historic bike tour. Participants will cycle 19 miles, along the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway talking about the natural and cultural history of the Pawpaw dating back to the Indigenous peoples of the area. We will continue to learn about the Indigenous tribes at the Mounds in The Plains where we will enjoy local refreshments including pawpaws! We will end our tour back at the Athens Public Library.

Some of the tour will be on the road, there is a total of 510 ft of elevation gain and a max gradient of 2.2%. This is a non-supported tour so participants should bring personal bike repair kits and water. Helmets are required.

Minor children are permitted on this tour but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

As this is a library program, we ask all participants to wear a mask and participate in social distancing.
