Jane Austen's comedy of manners and belated maturity during the Regency Period of
England's Georgian Era has inspired many feature films, television
mini-series, and stage-plays. This is no doubt due to its rich
characterizations, realistic and eccentric social depictions, delightful
twists of plot, comical setbacks and psychological revelations. Though
Pride and Prejudice is considered Austen's greatest literary triumph, many critics believe Emma is the most fun.Our guest lecturer and discussion leader is Dr. Linda Zionkowski, Professor at Ohio University's Department of English.Registration is required. The first 15 people to sign up
will receive a free copy of the book and must agree to attend all three
class sessions.Sponsored by the Friends of the Athens Public Library.
