"I was four when I saw a horse for the first time. My neighbor’s dark bay Morgan stallion tossed his head and stomped his hooves on the stall’s wooden floor...and my heart leaped; “That’s just how I feel inside!” I heard myself say. We were both made of unapologetic power and pure energy bursting with life itself!

"But I was a human girl, and when my imaginary mane and tail and galloping hooves could no longer fool my heart, I found drawing horses all the time would fill it. Then, over time, a love for people surfaced quietly in my art to release those galloping horses into a larger field where all such horses go...These drawings “Revealing the Light” I see in the many people all around me are gathered from many sketchbooks carted to every corner of this country of ours." -- Erica Magnus
