Guest speaker Patricia Anderson will discuss the origin and evolution of
trails created by indigenous peoples living in our corner of the state,
paying closest attention to those that ran through the city of Athens
and part of the county once known as the Wolf Plains. Patricia has 1/16 Shawnee Indian ancestry and enjoys sharing her research on trail-building, mound-building, and horticultural and trade practices of the
Archaic, Adena, Hopewell, and Fort Ancient. She will also bring
artifacts ranging from an atlatl and arrow heads to trail maps. A discussion and Q&A will follow. Sponsored by the Friends of the Athens Public Library.
