Intelligence analyst Howard Federspiel, writing as Emery Buxton, has given voice to the lesser-heard voices of World War I and the Korean War. He draws on his career in the State Department to bring untold stories to the forefront, and on May 19th, he's bringing these tales to the Athens Public library. Spend an hour with us as Howard reads from a selection of his novels, new and old.

Howard Federspiel is a specialist in international affairs whose career at the U.S. Department of State landed him assignments in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. He is a scholar of Islamic culture, and has also worked at The Ohio State University and at McGill University in Canada. He now resides in Southeast Ohio and writes historical fiction under the pen name Emery Buxton. His fiction includes the series An Unwanted War, A Reporter's War, and Tales from Lands Below the Winds (forthcoming).
