Shiitake Mushroom Log Workshop

Learn the basics of growing Shiitake mushrooms on hardwood logs. Participate in the hands-on experience of inoculating logs with Shiitake wood plug spawn, and take home your own log. The cultivation of other gourmet and medicinal mushrooms will also be discussed.

Andy Gideon and Anna Kelly are the founders of Soulshine Acres, a forest-farm specializing in growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. Focused on sustainable practices for obtaining logs and growing mushrooms in harmony with the land, they hope to benefit both the environment and the people of Athens.
