Join local author Bonnie Proudfoot at the Plains Public Library as she reads from her award winning novel Goshen Road and discusses her writing process. A book sale and signing will follow her presentation. Masks are suggested.
Goshen Road was selected as a Great Group Read by the Women's National Book Association, was longlisted for the prestigious PEN/Hemingway Award for a Debut Novel, and won "Book of the Year" from the Writer's Conference of Northern Appalachia.
“Proudfoot is a talented wordsmith, and her lyrical writing is the highlight of her debut novel. She details the landscape of the mountains and dirt roads with tenderness and detail, and creates complex, rich characters.” -Booklist
“Proudfoot reveals the strength, nobility, and despair of those who want to climb out of the hollow yet find themselves at the bottom of a long, unkempt, winding road.” -Janet E. Irvin, Ohioana Quarterly
