Need some last minute gifts or want to learn a greener way to wrap them?

Join ACPL and the Community Makerspace to make reusable waxed fabric food wraps - and fabric 'wrapping paper'!

Staff will guide you through the process of sewing and folding fabric gift wraps based on the Japanese art of Furoshiki, and creating waxed food wraps that can replace plastic sandwich baggies and plastic wrap - these make lovely gifts!  Basic sewing skills are helpful, but not necessary.

Participants can leave with up to 3 "wrapping paper" wraps and 3 food wraps, depending on the time they can spend. Please plan to arrive as close to the start time as possible if you want to make the maximum number of items to take home; otherwise, come as you are able.

*This program is open to ages 12 and up. Since a clothing iron will be used for both projects, children under 18 need an accompanying parent or guardian present.*

**Please note: This class will take place at the Community Makerspace - located at 751 West Union St. in Athens. - across the street from Third Sun Solar and Bedrock Tool Rental.
