"Forty years ago, I enrolled in classes to study Interior Design and took my first watercolor class. I fell in love with the process of putting paint and water on paper. Many of the pieces in today’s exhibit are done in this medium. I spent most of last year working on my tree series. During our Covid isolation, with lots of time available, I decided to explore two new media: alcohol ink renditions and acrylic pouring with lots of plastic. I found the latter to be a very messy medium but so much fun! Although I am in my 80s, I find there are new innovations and exciting times in my future to explore creating my art." -- Carolyn Haugen
