The Community Resiliency Model (CRM) training was created by the Trauma Resource Institute (TRI) in California. CRM teaches six self-regulation skills that help people more quickly return their nervous system to baseline after traumatic events.
When our nervous system is more regulated, we have lower sympathetic activation, lower levels of cortisol, and more access to our thinking brain, as well as efficient termination of fight, flight, or freeze. This in turn reduces the risk of developing PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
Join us to learn self-regulation skills to keep yourself and others more regulated and healthy. More info at traumaresourceinstitute.com.
Our guest trainer will be Mara Giglio, Director of the Appalachian Peace and Justice Network.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
