Event Details
Many of our most popular foods today are full of artificial chemicals (additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, gums, empty calories, etc.), with which the human body doesn't know what to do. Obesity is one side effect, but so is a rise in cancer, including among young adults. The need for many Americans to buy more affordable, ultra-processed food is another problem.
We'll discuss medical scientist Chris Van Tulleken's new study about this crisis of nutrition and examine the trails he blazes to get ourselves and our society back on track so that we can incorporate real foods into our diet and thereby live longer, healthier lives.
Join us for this single-meeting book discussion. Theresa Moran of Ohio University's Department of Plant Biology will be our discussion leader.
