Discuss this Harlem Renaissance novel by Claude McKay, published 87 years after it was written because of its revolutionary portrayals of disabled, Black, and queer characters and their day-to-day living in the 1920s.
Discussion leader and Professor Gary Holcomb co-edited the novel for Penguin Random House in 2020. Since then, it's been glowingly reviewed in places like The New York Times Book Review and The Washington Post, selling over 18,000 copies worldwide.
Gary Holcomb teaches in the Department of African American Studies at Ohio University.
