The Athens Poetry Group- All Local Poets Invited

Every Other Tuesday, 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM
This is an informal creative gathering of poets and would-be poets,
professional and amateur. All adult age groups are welcome. Steady
participation is not required but encouraged. People who attend must
bring in an original poem to each meeting to read aloud and discuss
afterward for group responses.

Copies of the poem you bring should be made to share with others
in attendance. Everyone gets their turn. This is a group to help inspire
and refine one's skills in the art of poetry. Many modes of
composition, meter, theme and mood are explored. Meetings will usually
take place in the Small Meeting Room, but occasionally will meet in the
library's Study Area beyond the nonfiction stacks. The group also
periodically does public readings of their poetry at the public library as well.
