Program Description

Event Details

Join Chris Kline, director of the Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center, as he explains how to use native plants to draw butterflies to your home garden. He will discuss topics such as butterfly gardening basics, common butterflies in the garden, host plants, native nectar, and sources for native plants. This program will be enlightening for both beginning gardeners and for those looking to take their existing gardens to the next level.

Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center, located in Rockbridge, OH, is an LLC owned by Christopher and Kris Kline. The initial idea for Butterfly Ridge came into being in early 2014. The idea was to have a garden that would focus on the health and well-being of butterflies native to southeastern Ohio. The garden is a 21-acre slice of the Hocking Hills located in southeastern Ohio. Butterfly Ridge invests heavily in research and in their community, helping others develop butterfly habitats and supporting students with an interest in the natural world.
