Event Details

This presentation will take place in the Large Meeting Room.

The moon has traditionally figured into the composition of songs since before there was writing, and it remains so today, serving as a vital symbol in the lyrics of songs from virtually every musical genre, including country, blues, folk and rock.  Sometimes it is an image of beauty or romance, sometimes an object of melancholy or dread, and sometimes just as a gentle companion in the night to comfort the lonely.

Featuring music maven and professional folk musician, Steve Zarate, who well tell the stories behind classic moon songs and perform them.
