Event Details

Join Michelle Greenfield Yoga and Kojun Hayes of Sacred Waves Sound Work for a gentle flowing yoga class to honor the full moon through gentle movements, combined with the soothing and restorative vibrations of crystal singing bowls and an assortment of other chimes, gongs, and healing instruments.

Expect to open and create space in the body, moving with the intention of reflecting on what has been harvested in your life over the summer and clarifying intentions as you move into the autumn season. This session will also include an extended period of Sivasana (relaxation) to fully recharge your system.

Presenter Bios:

Kojun and Michelle began collaborating in the fall of last year, and the friendship and connection they found with each other shine through in the beautiful and natural flow of their yoga and sound healing classes.

Michelle Greenfield is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher, and has been teaching classes since 2009, in Athens, Ohio and Carbondale, Colorado. She has been practicing various forms of yoga since 1993, starting with her Iyengar teachers and adding Integral, Vinyasa, Kripalu and most recently Kundalini styles of yoga. Her classes integrate alignment oriented flowing or held poses, pranayama breath practices and meditations in movement and stillness. As a Mindful Outdoor Guide, she also leads groups in mindful outdoor experiences to bathe in the forest and connect with the natural world.

Kojun Hayes grew up on a farm deep in Appalachia and his childhood consisted of exploring the woods and fields with his dogs, captivated at a young age by the endless sounds around him.

After many years of playing singing bowls for friends while slowly developing his intimate connection to these sacred instruments, Kojun witnessed the profound awareness and peace the singing bowls gave one of his meditation students. He then created his sound healing service called Sacred Waves Sound Work. Kojun is certified in Sound Healing and is working on Gong Therapy certification. He has collaborated with yoga instructors in Athens, Logan and Lancaster for popular yoga and sound healing classes. He brings sound baths to festivals, including this year's Nelsonville Music Festival, and provides sound baths for individuals and groups. He says, “Because sound vibrations reverberate through our entire being, they impact us in fundamental energetic, psychological, physiological, and emotional ways. This is why paying attention to the sounds we take in daily is essential, as sound inevitably affects our energy, thoughts, mood, and bodies.”
