Haveyou been intimidated to read Woolf, or just assumed that her
writing's too depressing or challenging? Explore one of the most
acclaimed works of the 20th century with this friendly, neighborhood
book club, led by an enthusiastic guest lecturer who calls this title
her "#1 desert island choice," and who believes Woolf to be
one of the most life-affirming authors.

A
story spanning just two days set 10 years apart and following a
family and its trips to a scenic lighthouse on an isle in Scotland,
the book dances with perception, shifts in subjective reality, and
the struggle to create art in the midst of social confusions and
traumas.

With
Dr. Carey Snyder, OU Associate Professor of English and our guest
lecturer/discussion leader. Registration begins in early January; the first 15 people to sign up get a free copy of the book!Sponsored by the Friends of the Athens Public Library!
