Known to scientists as "odonata," these predatory flying insects have always fascinated nature lovers and artists alike. Guest speaker Professor Dave McShaffrey, a zoologist from nearby Marietta College, is also a co-author of the new book A Naturalist's Guide to the Odonata of Ohio (Ohio Biological Survey) and is an active field scientist, conducting forensic entomology studies.
