Tea Cozies Craft Show and Silent Auction

Knitted and crocheted, tea cozies were designed to keep teapots warm during long socials around the teacups.  In the Victorian Period they evolved from merely two dimensional decoration to three dimensional decoration, with figures being created to cleverly ornament the cozy.  Originally these were made to resemble a servant, either a butler or maid. Nowadays anything goes, and the Athens County Knitters have taken things to imaginative heights and beauty (and humor). Join in a silent auction for these tea cozies (teapots included!) Proceeds will go toward a charitable effort in support of the Athens County Public Libraries, including an adult tandem bicycle! Starting bids range from $20 to $50.This event will take place in the Circulation Area.
