Program Description

Event Details

At a time where the intersections of religion, gender, and sexuality have caused much confusion and conflict, this workshop and discussion will provide participants with an introduction to LGBTQA+ affirming Biblical and other sacred texts. We will explore what religious traditions actually say and don't say about LGBTQA+ folks (with a specific focus on Judeo-Christian texts). All are welcome! This workshop and discussion will be facilitated by our very own delfin bautista whose background includes faith-based advocacy work on sexual and gender justice issues as well as interfaith explorations on the intersections of religion, gender, sexuality, race, and identity. This event is planned and led by a community group using the library's free meeting spaces. Are you leading a Community Event at one of our locations? Let us know! We want to share these events on our online calendar to help spread the word and to keep our staff informed about what's happening around the county.
