At the age of 40, I started classes to study Interior Design and took my first watercolor class. It has been a love affair for 40 more years. I believe many of the design and color theories that apply to interiors also transfer to painting. I moved to Athens five years ago from Spokane, Washington. I was a member of the Spokane Watercolor Society for many years and participated in juried shows and Art Walks. My subject matter can be anything that catches my eye. I use many of my own photos in the process of creating a painting. During our COVID isolation I started experimenting with alcohol ink and have included some of them in this display for the library. -- Carolyn Haugen
