Internationally esteemed guest speaker Geoff Dabelko will discuss his work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He will focus on how climate change provokes political conflict, and how solving climate-related environmental problems can build paths to peace.

Dabelko is Professor and Associate Dean at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service at Ohio University. He teaches and conducts research on peace-building and security, global environmental politics, climate change and security, and environmental leadership.  

Geoff Dabelko is also a member of the United Nations Environment Programme's Expert Advisory Group on Environment, Conflict, and Peacebuilding. Additionally, he is an Associate Senior Fellow at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, and is an author of their report, Environment of Peace: Security in a New Era of Risk.
