On display in the Glass Display Cases from April 2nd through April 29th.

Meet the Artist Reception: Tuesday, April 16th, at 6:00pm.

Lawrence King, Science Educator, Retro-Technology Enthusiast, and possible hoarder ("No, No, No, it's ALL Treasure").

Lawrence prefers to be known as a Preservationist of the 2nd Industrial Revolution, because "Junk collector just doesn't have the same ring to it".

His personal emphasis on collecting is influenced by the trends in the recycling stream he observes at the flea markets, boot sales and junkyards.

What frequently catches his eye are the smaller mechanical marvels and metal machine objects.

His collections range from vintage cameras, clocks, tools, cast iron cookware, typewriters, and sewing machines, to these vintage computational devices "that go Ker-Chunk in a most satisfying way".

Lawrence enjoys researching the machines he procures, locating their place and purpose in history, then tinkering them back into working order.

"I see them as mechanical works of art.  I am saddened that they are being assigned to the scrap yards and dumps."--Lawrence King
