The romance of the Moon has inspired humankind since prehistoric times, frequently appearing in poetry and painting from the earliest days of arts and literature. As commercial photography gained steam in the late 1800s, Victorian camera studios began including lunar backdrops to create fantastical ambrotype and tintype portraits of their subjects. Have your picture taken by more modern means in front of this 21st century recreation. Our moon visits the Athens Public Library courtesy of Jeff Carr, Exhibitions and Collections Manager at Kennedy Museum of Art. This backdrop will be located under the Library Skylight.
