The comic book store is now a common feature of American towns and cities across the nation. Our guest author, Dan Gearino will read from his book, Comic Shop, and trace the history and development of comic book stores and their impact on the art form. He will also discuss the current challenges the comic book and graphic novel industry faces, because of changes in media consumption and the impact of the internet. Despite current difficulties in doing a profitable business in comic books and graphic novels, Gearino will also demonstrate we are now in a rich creative era for the art form itself.
