Event Details
Qi is life force energy that is within us, surrounds us, and is in all nature. Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice (preceding Tai Chi) that helps us awaken our inner power, reduce stress, and connect to our true selves, others, and the universe for emotional well-being. For all ages and physical abilities, it balances our three treasures (mind, heart, and body), wakes us up to the present moment, and promotes physical and mental health.
This workshop series will include a short introduction to Qigong, principles of breath and alignment, relaxation, circulation of Qi, and moving from the center. Our practice will include a warmup, movement flows, and standing postures for each of the 5 elements (corresponding to the major body organs), ending with a closing meditation and time for Q&A.
Also happening Wednesday, March 27 at 6pm.
Workshop leader Laura Parrotti is a certified Qigong and Reiki instructor and a retired Associate Professor of Voice and Speech.
