Event Details
Kite-flying is as old as civilization, and it's enjoyed by children and adults alike in diverse cultures across the world. Designed to reacquaint adults with the pleasure of making a homemade kite and getting out into the winds, this workshop is a fun and healthy way to take time out, push away from the computer, and get outdoors!
Led by kite enthusiast Julio Aráuz and sponsored by the Friends of the Athens Public Library.
Please register online or by phone; building kites is limited to 10 participants but additional people may attend as observers.
Accompanying image is by Utagawa Kunisada II, Japanese (b.1823-d.1880), entitled, "Kabuki Stars Rising in Popularity Like Kites" (woodblock print, 1873).
