Event Details
Thisprogram will discuss energy efficiency in terms of shading,
evapo-transpiration, air movement and green roofs, while delving into
such factors as photosynthesis, roof/wall/area shading, windbreaks,
foundation wind-blocks, and wind channeling. The presentation will
also cover water management, including rain gardens, dry wells,
cisterns and above-ground storage. Important issues like
permaculture, food productivity, and debate over native verses
non-native plants will also be highlighted. Our guest speaker is John
Knouse, one of the Athens-area's foremost active conservationalists.
