Event Details

Taketime to reflect and unwind with a creative expression method known as
Touch Drawing. Originated by Deborah Koff-Chapin, Touch Drawing is
used by artists, therapists, educators, health care practitioners,
and anyone wishing to experience an intuitive and restorative art
process.

Touch
Drawing, technically known as monotype, involves using a brayer to
roll water mixable oil paint across a surface (we will use 18 x 24
sheets of Masonite), floating a sheet of tissue paper on top of the
paint, and moving the hands on the paper in response to the
sensations and feelings of the moment.

Our instructor is February's featured artist, Katherine Ziff. Most
of the workshop's time will be spent making drawings, and paticipants can expect to take
home a series of 20+ drawings.

The instructor will have students take time to reflect on their work, and they will receive
information on mounting and embellishing them at home.

No
art training or artistic confidence is needed. All materials will be
supplied at the workshop courtesy of the Friends of the Athens Public Library.People must register.  Limited to 15 participants.  Registration begins in mid January.
