Join documentary filmmaker Burr Beard as he introduces a new short film about a traumatic chapter in our local history. Produced in 2017 at Ohio University's School of Media Arts and Studies in the
Scripps College of Communications, "Millfield Mine Disaster 1930"
(19-min.) highlights a rarely seen16mm silent film, shot on the day of
the infamous mine collapse. It also features interviews with a family
member who lost men to the disaster, the last surviving miner involved,
