Join Athens Branch Technology Training Librarian, Sarie Cornwell, for a weekly drop-in workshop for the Northstar Digital Literacy Program. Open to beginners, anyone wanting to learn new skills, or for those wanting to brush up on popular programs like Word and Excel. This self-paced program covers:

  • Introductory Computer, Email & Internet Skills,
  • Software: Word & Excel (PowerPoint, & Google Docs coming soon!), and
  • Using Technology in Daily Life

This workshop is intended to be a mutual learning environment where we can help learn from and support each other. Bring your questions, concerns, and an open mind. Paper and pen/pencil for taking notes are good to bring too!

No pre-registration required. Bring your own laptop computer, or there are laptops available to borrow for use during the workshop. Laptops are available at the front circulation desk on a first come, first served basis. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own headphones to hear the lessons (headphones may be provided for initial workshop - if supplies are available).

For those attending for the first time - you may arrive up to 15 minutes early to get help setting-up your learner account. If you are feeling adventurous you can set-up your own learner account ahead of time by clicking HERE - Sign Up to Learn | Northstar Digital Literacy (digitalliteracyassessment.org)
