DUE TO AN INDEFINITE DELAY IN PUBLICATION OF THE BOOK, THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED; IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED WHEN A NEW RELEASE DATE IS DETERMINED.  WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY DISAPPOINTMENTS.Beep is the first book aboutblind baseball leagues. Our guest author, David Wanczyk will
illuminate this sport and show us a remarkable version of America’s
favorite pastime. With balls designed to beep three times per second
and bases that buzz, “beep baseball” is both innovative and
intensely competitive. Athletic rivalries are so intense that no
player or spectator is thinking about disability. These athletes play
their hearts out, especially for the championship games, which are
international. Wanczyk follows teams around the world and even joins
them on the field to create a gripping inside-narrative about the
game and its players. The book explores such interesting questions as
whether players come to terms with their blindness through the game,
or does it provoke buried frustrations about their disability?

Copies of the book will be available
for purchase after the presentation.
