Benjamin Banneker: Black Traveler in Time

With Lawrence Greene portraying the African American colonial astronomer and clock-maker Benjamin Banneker (who legend says invented a time-machine!) we’ll enter a journey into Banneker's past as well as his future. He will encounter and engage with African scientists and inventors from the ancient world to African American scientists and inventors from the Industrial Revolution. Between dramatic descriptions of his experiences with these black innovators throughout human history, Green will play African drum music accompanied by the Afro-Steampunk dance-stylings of CC Ruchti.
