Guest author David Wanczyk has written the first book about blind baseball leagues and willilluminate this sport and show us a remarkable version of America’s
favorite pastime. With balls designed to beep three times per second
and bases that buzz, “beep baseball” is both innovative and
intensely competitive. Athletic rivalries are so intense that no
player or spectator is thinking about disability. These athletes play
their hearts out, especially for the championship games, which are
international. Wanczyk follows teams around the world and even joins
them on the field to create a gripping inside-narrative about the
game and its players.

Copies of the book will be available
for purchase after the presentation.Sponsored by the Friends of the Athens Public Library.
