On exhibit on the Circulation Area Wall from Wednesday, March 2nd thru Wednesday, March 30th.

"For four years, I attended classes at The Athens Photo Project.   As I was introduced to the magic of the camera, I also was exposed to the huge variety of topics and nature. If I had a favorite it would be the farmers' wife holding fragile eggs in her gnarled hands. I call it, 'Rebirth'.  I also have artwork of food, the 'Natural Freedom Horse Farm' results from road-trips, and trees, and more. We also were introduced to the community by taking images of non-profit organizations at work and by getting to know many of the Farmers Market vendors. I was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1952.  I now reside in The Plains, Ohio. I've made many friends who also have an interest in photography.  The Athens Photo Project has been a Godsend for me. It keeps me busy in my elder years, and surrounded by people who have your interest at heart. I have in my life suffered with a number of mental illnesses. I've struggled to get my life together and with the help of many professionals, I feel like I'm finally getting there. My photo art helps me to recognize and appreciate all the beauty around me. The camera is an extension of what my eyes see, captured on film." -- Mary Schommer

Exhibit reception: Tuesday, March 15th, 6-7pm. Refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Athens Public Library.
