Program Description

Event Details

In 2026 we celebrate our nation's Semiquincentennial--the 250th anniversary of our independence from Great Britain. It is also when the Original Thirteen Colonies began formulating their concept of a unified democracy of their own--the first democratic nation in North America.  To speak on this important topic, we bring in a professional historian of American history, Professor Katherine Jellison from the Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio University.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Athens County Libraries.
