Join us for stories, songs and more that encourage development of early literacy skills in young children.  Ages 3-5

NCBC is a weekly book club designed to include developmentally disabled adults. We read books together, discuss them, and then celebrate with a party! 

Librarian Todd will read a pair of classic scary stories by Southern weird fiction writer, Manly Wade Wellman.

Make an autumn garland for your mantle, mirror, or window featuring mushrooms you craft yourself. 

Meet every week to practice your Spanish in a friendly community setting! Native speakers and those interested in improving their language skills are equally welcome. Free and open to the public.

Meet twice a month to explore some new tabletop role-playing games.  A great way to get together with other teens and young adults for some gaming fun.

1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.

Grades 7 and up

Get up close and personal with big trucks, and hear from the people who drive them. See cool vehicles of various shapes, sizes, and colors at the library, and learn more about how they are used in our everyday lives.

Each week, a group of Ohio University students will bring a favorite snack as well as a craft, game, or activity from their own childhoods to share with Chauncey kids.

Originally published in German in 1947, then published in English in 2009 after being rediscovered, Hans Fallada’s novel is also an excellent example of historical fiction that hews very close to pure history.
