Join us for hands-on workshops focusedon supporting and promoting healthy aging through low impact fitness, group
activities, health coaching, meditation, and more.

Improve your blood pressure, decrease your
risk of chronic disease, and improve day-to-day activities!

Free and open to the public.

Medication adherence
/Living a healthy lifestyleMedication
adherence is difficult across all age groups, however for older
patients medication adherence can be even more difficult
due to multiple medications and health issues. This event will occur at The Plains Public Library. It
will discuss and explore ideas on what gets in the way when taking
medications as well as ideas on how to live a healthy lifestyle
especially while aging. This session will also show ways to lower
prescription costs; there will be free giveaways and prizes.
Free food.
Monday, October 28 at 1:00PM: Eating Healthy
When Life Gets Complicated with Live Healthy Appalachia. Some changes can occur as you age that make it harder for you to eat
healthy these changes can include medications, health, home life and/or income. Please join me at The Athens
Public Library where we will address eating healthy when life gets complicated as well as a cooking demonstration that will be presented
by Live Healthy Appalachia. Free food will be present. Gift cards and raffles will be present at this event.

Stress
management and sleep hygiene: we will address ways to manage stress and discuss the benefits of an
appropriate sleep regimen in healthy aging. Prizes and gifts will be
raffled off. Free food.

 

About our presenters: Princess Emeana is a
first year medical student at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic
Medicine and an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. Emeana’s “Project 159” series seeks to address the needs of residents of Athens
County by creating a health and wellness project aimed at providing health
education workshops focused on supporting and promoting healthy aging
in older adults.
