Fyodor Dostoevsky's The Idiot (VIRTUAL PROGRAM) (Part 4 of 4)

Now regarded as one of the great works of world literature, this deeply personal novel challenged the spiritual and intellectual sensibilities of 19th century Russia by pitting a protagonist of innocent, reflective and empathic nature who suffers from socially disfiguring epilepsy against a world of entrenched cynicism, consuming self-interest and modern nihilism--and yet full of people the main character recognizes as being deeply in need of real love.  Dostoevsky's novel takes his readers on a journey that will turn all their taught assumptions inside out.
