Purpose of Meeting

Is there a goal or dream you’ve been thinking about for a long time, but you don’t take action? Why is that? One of our brain’s jobs is to keep us safe, therefore, making change from our normal status quo can feel threatening to our brain. It likes to create thoughts and fears that hold us back, keep us small, so we don’t take risks. It helps us to survive, but not always to thrive. In this workshop we will do a couple interactive activities that will start you on the process of getting to know the parts holding you back from your goals.

Speaker:
Teresa Curtiss is a wellness coach that helps people overcome their stress related challenges, so everyday isn’t such a struggle. She approaches health from the perspective that our minds and our bodies are connected. So, our mental and emotional wellbeing can greatly impact our physical health. She shows clients what’s happening in their mind, how to relate to it differently, and ultimately how to change their limiting beliefs or stories about their lives. Then they can start enjoying life as a less reactive, more calm, confident, and resilient person. Teresa recently overcame a decade long chronic illness and it is now her mission to provide others with hope, help them feel truly seen, and to guide them on their path to feeling better. Teresa recently left her first career of nearly 20 years at QuidelOrtho where she worked in R&D, clinical affairs, and regulatory affairs. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in biology from Ohio University. She completed a certificate program at the Graduate Institute and Copper Beech Institute on coaching using Internal Family Systems.
